- 8 herring/mackerel fillets
- Seasoned flour
- 1 egg – beaten
- 100g porridge oat flakes
- 1 red and 1 green apple – sliced
- 25g butter
- Oil to fry.
Dry the fillets of fish well.
Toss in seasoned flour, then dip in beaten egg. Coat with oat flakes.
Fry each fillet until golden brown. Drain well.
Finally, fry the apple slices in butter and serve with the herring.
